Lift The Cover is a new Musical Podcast Project that features exclusive material, recorded especially for the Podcast. The goal of the project is to help you discover new bands/artists and investigate the originals.
The seeds of Lift the Cover began during the Vindaloo Cocktail Podcast. Plans were undertaken for an entire episode of exclusive tracks for the ‘By Request’ episode in which, all the songs were chosen for the artist. Lift The Cover was then established to extended the concept to a stand alone Podcast.
To begin, 4 editions have been released as follows
McCarthy Trenching Team Love Recording artist and Omaha Nebraska resident Dan McCarthy offers his take on Neil Young’s ‘Star of Bethlehem’.
Twiggy Frostbite
Swedish group Twiggy Frostbite deliver their version of Doris ‘Grey Rain of Sweden’.
Faces on Film
Boston outfit Faces on Film’s take on Townes Van Zandt’s ‘Ill Be here in the Morning’.
Seagull
Melbourne Australia group Seagull offer their cover of Tim Hardin’s ‘Southern Butterfly’.

Ever since iTunes removed Vindaloo Cocktail for copyright issues, I’ve been trying work out it’s future direction. The Podcast in it’s current form will not be able to reinstated on iTunes. So I have decided to take Vindaloo Cocktail in a new direction…
1st: The current Vindaloo Cocktail Podcast format of music & interviews will now cease. Episode 40 will be the last of it’s kind until this format can resume unhindered in the future.
2nd: Vindaloo Cocktail will still continue to interview bands, and a new Podcast format has been established as Vindaloo Cocktail Interviews – which is currently featured on iTunes.
3rd & finally, expect a new Music Podcast Project that will be announced very soon on this blog.

I mentioned here that iTunes had removed Vindaloo Cocktail due to technical problems with the feed. The Podcast was re-submitted and was rejected again. It seems it might not have been technical problems, rather it was something copyright related (which was going to happen one day). From now on, full episodes of Vindaloo Cocktail will only be available through the RSS feed or from the website.
In the meantime, a modified version of ‘Interview only’ Vindaloo Cocktail is now available on iTunes as Vindaloo Cocktail Interviews.
